Two exams nobody else would run.
In 2018, a career-assessment practice in Chennai needed a 500-question psychometric instrument delivered online, auto-evaluated against its own scoring logic, and turned into a branded report for every single client. Quiz tools could ask the questions. None of them could score the instrument or produce the report. So we built the engine that could.
In 2022, a state fine-arts university needed to run end-semester music examinations across its affiliated colleges, where the answer is a student singing or playing, not ticking a box. That meant audio and video submissions, proctoring, and examiners grading recordings at scale. Google Forms cannot hear a raga. The same engine, extended, could.
Those two jobs still define the product. One proved delivery of formats that break ordinary tools; the other proved evaluation and reporting of a proprietary instrument. Both clients are still with us. Everything on this site is a generalisation of work that someone paid for first.
India's exam problem is an infrastructure problem.
Every year, results that decide careers are thrown out because the machinery around the exam failed, not because the questions were wrong. Laws have been passed. Cancellations have continued. The gap is in the delivery, integrity and record-keeping layer, and that is a software problem before it is anything else.
NEET-UG 2026 was cancelled outright after a leaked paper overlapped up to 140 of its 180 questions. It is the largest single exam cancellation in Indian history.
UGC-NET June 2024 was cancelled within 24 hours of being held, and referred to the CBI.
Of 148 documented exam-fraud cases since 2015, only one has ended in a conviction (The Wire, 2026), even after the 2024 Public Examinations Act.
Our mission: make trustworthy assessment infrastructure cheap enough that a department, a coaching centre or a certification body can run a defensible exam without a procurement cycle, and without paying enterprise licence fees just to find out whether it works.

Most credible assessment vendors in India publish no price at all. You request a quote and find out the cost after a sales call. Our plans, limits and overage rates are on the pricing section of this site, in rupees.
One engine, not a stack.
Authoring, delivery, proctoring, grading and reporting are the same system. We would rather do the whole exam lifecycle properly than integrate four vendors and own none of the failure modes.
Proctoring, not surveillance.
Integrity controls are tiered and disclosed to candidates, with consent forms published on this site. An exam should be hard to cheat and calm to sit.
Your data stays yours.
Everything is workspace-scoped and multi-tenant by design. Enterprise customers can self-host on their own infrastructure, including inside a campus network.
Small on purpose.
XAM is built and run by a small team, bootstrapped, with no outside investors. That is why it costs what it costs, and why a decision about your exam can be made the same day you ask.
We say what we do not do.
We are not a hiring-assessment marketplace and not a K-12 quiz app. We are for people whose test is too specific for cheap tools and too small for the enterprise vendors.

Ankor is a Chennai-based software company. XAM is its assessment platform, designed, written and operated by a small team. There is no sales floor and no support tier. When you email us, the person who wrote the code answers.
That cuts both ways, and it is worth saying plainly. We move fast on anything that touches a live exam. We will also tell you when a feature is not built yet, and we turn down work we cannot support properly. If you are evaluating XAM for a high-stakes programme, ask us straight out about capacity. You will get a straight answer.
